Phased retirement: a welcome paradigm shift

With shortages in the number of skilled workers and increases in projected lifespan, both employers and employees are interested in changing current policies designed to provide a direct transition from full-time work to full-time retirement. Mercer’s Pierce Noble provides insights on phased retirement and his testimony before the US Department of Labor last week on changes a shift in the retirement paradigm would necessitate.
